I want a blueberry bush or two!

Today, the girls and I went to a local pick- your-own and got 2 pints of  blueberry and a dozen ears of corn.  Spent $8.25.

When the coupon Angels align...

This happens:  $4.53 total for all items pictured;  First, I checked my local deal sites for Wed $1 double match-ups at my local Farm Fresh and I saw on one that King Hawaiian Rolls where on sale for 2 for $4, and that there was a $1 off coupon available in a newspaper insert that I just happened to have two of ,  than on another site I read that there was also a newspaper insert coupon in another flyer that if you buy the King rolls and Wholly guacamole you get a pound of ground beef free up to $3.50  a lb .  Than I remembered that I had two $1 off  Wholly guacamole coupons from a wine tags.  And than finally while at store near the guacamole I found a coupon for $1 of Wholly brand salsa when you buy the guacamole!!!

The  free rolls I'll take to a pool party I'm going to this weekend ( I'm also making a potato salad with my  potatoes surplus on hand).  The meat that was .23 and .26 a package (2.88 a lb.) I'll use to feed our pets (2 cats and 1 dog). who are on the raw food diet.  And I love guacamole and salsa, so those will be incorporated into our family menu!

look what he made for dinner tonight:  Rosemary (from our garden) grilled lamb chops with a organic Parmesan risotto and the green beans gifted to us the the other day!!  Super Yum!

Thrift Store find today!!

 

$3.98!!!  The same one pictured above on ebay for $39.99!!!  Now I can make something to go with all those organic ice cream cones!!

*Yesterday, I bought the local (DC area) Certifikid special,  it was 2 nights camping site at  Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in Natural Bridge VA for $52!!!   Great, get-a- way for us to try out our new water proof REI  special purchase tent!!!!  This is a very beautiful area of VA near the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Yogi campsites are so fun!!

* Today I also bought a local Groupon deal  $7.00  for $15 worth of organic meat, foods, and produce at a local Farmers market!!!  Super psyched about this one! Can't wait spend it!!

* Also today I bought  30 Stretch Island  Original Mango Fruit Leathers for less than 3 cents each! from Amazon !!  Lexie loves these and they where on sale for $10.88 with subscribe & save (which includes free shipping) and than I used two of my free swag buck's $5 amazon gift cards so I paid .88 for 30!!!  Great deal even at the $10.88.

Pretzel Fun!

We decided to have some fun with some pretzel dough tonight!  Some Hot Dog Pretzels, some Salty/ Buttery and some Cinnamon Sugary!!

Cheese and Apples!

 Tonight was left over night and a "Modern Family" Marathon nite ... Lex had pasta, I had a chicken burrito and Liv had the left over taco fixings, but a bunch of the taco shells kept cracking in half while I was trying to fry them, like I recently learned form a dear friends' taco nite...like 10 of them!!  So with the broken ones I cup them in quarters and fried them up in my free-cycled free Oyster Deep Fryer and made the best nachos we ever ate!  This was the only bit left by the time I cleaned up and grabbed the camera!  And for dessert Liv and I fried up some those green apples we were gifted in a little CO (coconut oil) and a bit of butter with some cinnamon and organic cane sugar...double yummy!!

The law of Generosity...

.... and look what was just lovingly delivered to my front door!!!  I try to be to generous with all whom I love and encounter on a daily basis, in all kinds of ways.   I believe like attracts like...thanks to my dear friend Donna and her partner Margret (who just spent the weekend on Donna's family farm)  I now have all the above for free!!!  Feeling so grateful!!  Green beans, squash, cucumbers, potatoes and tart apples...yum!!!

My lemon addiction!

 I just had to run  to Walmart to get lemons...they usually have the best price for organic lemons in my area...I also needed printer ink and Feline pine cat litter both best priced at Walmart.  I love lemons soo much that my family got me a Myer lemon bush/tree for my birthday a few years ago!   Best gift I every got!!  I currently have about 30 of these green beauties on it now that will grow and ripen and be ready for picking in a few months!!

Candy Factory Outlet

 

We have a hidden treasure here in town in the local Candy Store Factory Outlet, they make the candy that's sold in the Colonial area store front.  But they have so much more than just candy.  All kinds of gourmet foods and organic goodies all at way discounted prices!  I stopped today...while out yard sailing.  During the summer they sell caramel apples (the same they sell down town for $5) today they had them for $1.50 ( usually they're $2.99)  It's the best local caramel . One makes a yummy treat for the girls and I .  I was so happy and delighted to find TATE chocolate chip cookies for sale, 2 bags for $3, especially since I was joyfully surprised to see them last week in my local The Fresh Market and I paid over $4 a bag for them.  We just got introduced to these delicious  cookies while we where visiting friends in the South Hampton's NY two weeks ago and we stopped at the bakery!   The outlet can carry things that are out of date.( and that is factored in it to the very low prices they offer)..so I always check...but these bags where good thru Nov 2012,  and they had tons, Yippee!! Specially since I don't like to bake much during the summer.   Lastly, I got 4 Panda raspberry licorices  for a $1 ( my favorite movie theater treat) .All total with tax I spent $5.64!!!

Reinvention of this Blog!

This blog has gone thru some changes over the past few years, 3 different names, just to start and lots of neglect! Today though, I'm re-purposing it,  For years I've been feeding my family of 4; healthy, natural and organic foods  for around $150 a month.  Now I'm going to brag a little ( hmm..... I mean share here ) all my great deals.!! And I'm not the homestead type...ie, I don't bake all my breads from wheat I harvested myself ect.  We do have a garden that yields some yummy veggie over the summer months...but nothing very big,  I just shop for deals and make the most of what is available...I can tell ya we never feel for lack...instead I'd say we are most times overjoyed with the abundance!!!
